This mission became deeply personal in recent weeks, as Mrs. Brown developed an antibiotic-resistant infection over the holidays. Following discussions with her husband of almost 60 years, her children and grandchildren, and her care team, she made the decision to receive hospice care at home.
During her final weeks of life, Mrs. Brown was surrounded by love, dignity, and family.
